Nest

/ conceptual / transportation / parametric design

Project Goal:

Based on the Grasshopper and Optimization concepts learnt in the lecture, students will develop a Structural Design using the work of Shoei Yoh as a reference.

Response:

Looking at the work of Shoei Yoh, I started to explore his reasoning of work across all sectors. Gravitating towards that of public transport I moved into crafting a space that could be utilized as a nest. As our cities grow and become more populated our public transport systems have more of an emphasis on our daily lives. The nest was inspired by the Shoei Yoh glass station and is an interpretation of seeking safety and comfort during the daily commute.
